This is a very quick post but I wanted to do it because I know I haven’t posted any finished items for a while. I have just got round to finishing off this little bag. It is the Rowan Dolly Bag kit that came free with this year’s membership. I made it in Rowan Handknit cotton (2x50g) (shade: Celery).
I lined it using silk left over from making my wedding dress last year (extravagant as it was £50 per metre!). And I finished it off by threading some very fine silk ribbon through the ribbing, fastening it in a bow and sewing on a seed pearl. I think that it was actually this small touch that made the bag actually feel finished.
I think it is very cute but I’m not 100% sure what I will use it for. I’m tempted to hang it from the drawer handle of my dressing table with my hair clips and clasps in, as it is so pretty and girly. I was thinking of giving it as a present, but everyone I know seems to dislike knitted bags, so the one person who will really appreciate it is getting it... me!
Sorry about the bad lighting!

How cute! I love it! The color is great, and silk lining - how fancy. I love the details you put into it.
That is so pretty, especially with the silk lining and ribbon. They really do add a special "something".
Very pretty!
Kendra, everything you knit looks so beautifully finished and always looks as though you've put a lot of thought into it. This little bag is lovely. With the right outfit, I'd certainly be using it as a little "occasion" bag, and probably for little things (like hair things) in between.
Wow, the bag is beautiful, and all your finishing touches make it extra special. You know, I definitely think you should keep it for yourself, especially with all the lovely memories the wedding dress silk will give you.
How beautiful, you should keep it for yourself, you'd smile everytime you walked by it, i know i would :)
The bag is really lovely. Great personal touches.
That looks so adorable. I might have to go ahead and make it myself. I was going to use the yarn for something else...but I seem to have a lot of that color laying around the house at the moment! I like the extra touches! I think it would be great to have as something beautiful to look at. I don't do that enough and need to work on that!
That is such a nice piece of work. Just wish I could touch it, and explore that silk lining. The cables are beautiful.
That is really a beautiful purse, and your finishing touches of the bow and the silk lining make it even better. If I saw something like that in one of our shops, I would buy it immediately. I love girly things!
That is simply beautiful.
Wow, that turned out so cute! My stuff is still sitting in the package - now I am thinking I need to pull it out and start knitting. I love the color and I love the lining you choose. Very, very cute!
WOW, the bag is so beautiful!!! I love everything about it!
Beautiful! I love the pattern and the colour you chose for it! ^^
It's so pretty. I love it. Sad as it is, I considered buying a membership just for the pattern, as I love cables. But I can never find a use for knitted bags either. Still, it's pretty!
Hi Kendra! R u around on the evening of 30th Nov (Thu)? I have an invite 4 u & your Monkey :) to the preview of the ELDS where I will be exhibiting. It would be great if u could come! Let me know!
Oh that is such a lovely bag and I love the touches you have added. I think knitted bags are lovely and I think you deserve to keep it for yourself
That is lovely. I have been wondering whether I should renew my subscription but now I will. Just for the bag!
Great! I'm glad you can make it. I have free tickets for the preview, but they are valid for all weekend, so just tell me where to send it to and I'll pop it in the post.
That's really sweet, especially the silky accents Have you found the Rowan membership worth it? I've been contemplating joining, but remain justthisside of unconvinced. On the other hand, I do like that bag..
