More lace

This is my favourite drawer in my entire home. Look at all that lovely lace weight yarn. The problem is that I really need to knit this yarn up before I can allow myself to buy any more. Knitting lace is definitely more difficult since Alex was born but during my maternity leave I came up with a new design and the temptation to start it was so great that last week I cast on.
I'm making it in Jaggerspun Zephyr in a gorgeous shade called Ruby (it reminds me of the colour of the Grand Prix roses I had in my wedding bouquet). I'm probably being a little bit over ambitious but I was thinking that perhaps I might try and get the design into one of the online knitting magazines. I know that this is unlikely as there are so many people trying to do this and most of them have much better patterns than me but I thought I'd give it a go. However, this means I'm being extra picky about the knitting and the design. I keep changing my mind and having to undo about 10 rows or so at the time and mistakes that I might normally turn a blind eye on have to be corrected. Anyway, I thought I'd tell you about my knitting ambition for 2008. If nothing comes of it I'll put it as a free pattern on here and try again another time.

Well I am sure it doesn't hurt to give it a go and your past patterns have been lovely! Your lace babies are scrumptious sleeping in the drwer like that!

You have to be ambitious and reach high! There are many people trying and some of them succeed, so do try! *^v^* Good luck!

I can't wait to see your new creation and without ambition no much can be achieved, in my book anyway.

Your wedding photo looks great too, you looked beatiful. I hope the little man is doing well.

I think you have a great shot at getting a pattern published. Your lace designs are beautiful!

Your little baby is soooo cute. It is amazing how much time take. You get to be "pro" very quickly though!

Your Celtic Stole is easily as good as some of the stuff I've seen in mags and bettter than an awful lot of it! I'm sure the new one will be equally lovely!

you don't "know" me, but i've lurked on your site for quite some time.. i'm totally inspired by your beautiful completed projects and designs, and i had a baby shortly after you as well (but this is #2 for me so i have even less time to knit these days). just wanted to say i totally think you should try for online mag publication--you'll get in for sure.

Hey girl - none of that self deprecation - you go for it - your designs as as good as any, and better than most, that I have seen published. Why only try online - I bet Yarn Forward would love love love to get their hands on a lace pattern!! And the long established mags too. The worst that can happen is some say no - but it will be their loss!

First of all Kendra, you look so beautiful in your wedding photo! I love your favorite drawer. I think you will do just fine with whatever pattern you come up with and that any place that is looking for new designs will gladly accept yours.
