Alex usually has trouble settling down to sleep in the afternoons and I stay next to his bed to soothe him and cuddle him when he needs me. This has officially become my knitting time as I can sit near him keeping nice and quiet and just put my knitting down whenever he needs me. If he is really unsettled though we go for a nice long walk (and Mummy buys chocolate from any shop she happens to pass, which is almost as good as knitting). The title of the post comes from the fact that Alex has a tea sensor. He knows when I have a cup of tea and invariably wakes up. This means that by the end of the day there are usually at least 3 cups of cold tea sitting around the house. There is definitely no time for tea here!
I didn't manage to get pictures of my finished project yet as my camera is out of batteries but I've put a picture of one of my other projects up. It's Buttercup from one of Kim Hargreaves collections. I'm enjoying it so far - I always like Kim Hargreaves' designs though. Everything is done with such style and care. I love the new book by Kim Hargreaves - I'm finding it hard to resist. Has anyone else bought it yet?
Anyway, I'll leave you with another photo of Alex. He has no trouble settling down to sleep like this - who would?

Yey for you fitting the knitting in, and thanks for squeezing in a visit to my blog too.
Love the photo of your guys :o)
you are doing very well!! make sure to take time for yourself! father and son are so cool together!
Jack is the same way, will sleep on your chest for hours, then you lay him down & forget it. I got a great book --Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Dr. marc Weissbluth--a must read. Kendra, he's beautiful! I'm getting some knitting done as well, it's hard but I manage too.
How do you soother him when he fusses in his crib? Pat him or something, I need advice.....the weather is not nice enough here to walk yet but I can't wait for it.
I know someone that has the Kim Hargreaves book. I've had a look and it is awesome! Not really stuff that I could wear....but beautiful stuff.....right up your alley!
Lovely pictures! Buttercup is a pretty knit. I have the Heartfelt book and can honestly say I would knit nearly everything in it!
I love Kim Hargreaves patterns too! I don't have that book but there are couple of her kits that I would love to knit.
I think you deserve a star for finding the time to knit, it's never easy when you are trying to settle into a routine. Well done!
Alex looks so sweet with his daddy! All 3 of mine loved to sleep like that, make the most of it while he is this small, they grow up so fast.
Just reading these last 2 posts has made me feel all nostalgic for those peaceful moments during nap-time! Good to hear you're gradually getting back to your knitting - yes that K.H. book looks wonderfull and I'm sure everything would suit you to a tea!! Hope you manage to get a full cup soon! BTW what adorable pics of the young gentleman!
Daddy and baby are tooo cute!! Glad everythings going great for your new family :)
Lovely to hear from you and thanks for the great photos. Alex is so cute! That looks like maybe Point 5 in a scarf in the previous post, yummy. The KH knit looks lovely too, I just succumbed to a beret kit from her :-) I've got her book too and it's fabby, I am planning to knit the Emily sweater :-)
Happy days! It does stir memories - my slow-cooker went awol goodness knows when, but I remember it with great fondness, bubbling away whilst I mothered!
Had a look at the new KH book - I do like 'Elizabeth' - something about a peplum grabs me everytime!
