Slow progress

I’m being so slow with Cobweb, not sure why. But I’m determined to get a move on and finish so that I can’t get on with something else. Just one sleeve left to go. I am going to do a few quick little knits and definitely some lace as soon as I’m done. I have a design for some lace that I’m thinking of entering in the Purlescence competition but I’m not sure whether to or not yet.
Last week was so much better than the week before, especially going to the ELDS and meeting Gosia. Even Monkey enjoyed the show and we bought a glass penguin Christmas tree decoration from one of the stalls.

I love Christmas trees, but they have to be real ones (sorry for the non-sustainable approach but we do shred it afterwards!) and they have to be decorated in a higgedly piggedly style. I like collections of decorations that people have built up over the years and which have memories behind them. Here is a picture of our tree (I know it is early but I’d have one in June if I could). The new penguin is on the left.

Here is a meme that I saw here and here and couldn‘t resist. One word answers, no explanation.

Cobweb is looking pretty. Yay for black lace (is it black or dark blue?). :) I can't wait to see it finished.

A very tantalizing picture of Cobweb, looking forward to seeing her. I am with you re real Xmas trees, I love them even though they may not be PC these days :yours looks lovely. I used to bring out all the memory things also and things the children had made over the years, ah happy days :)

I share your Christmas tree philosophy absolutely. No colour scheme will ever adorn a tree of mine. Haven't decorated yet this year as am about to go away for work and life is manic but as soon as I'm back that will be by first job. There is a special magic in sitting in a room lit by the tree lights. Made some lovely decorations from drying slices of citrus fruit last year - highly recommend if you have any space!

What a wonderful picture of Cobweb, I love the mood it creates. I think you should enter the competition, definitely.

Your Christmas tree looks amazing!

The ELDS looks very interesting, I followed a few links and had a good look, will have to watch out for that in the future.

I agree too -- nothing is better than the real scent of pine in a room. We have the artificial one this year but hopefully next year we'll go back to cutting our own.

Ornaments are special reminders of times past. We decorate my parents' tree together as a family, and it's a time to tell all the favorite stories. We couldn't do that if the tree was "decorated." :)

Good luck with Cobweb!

I can't wait to see Cobweb when you've finished Kendra. Its going to be so beautiful. Your tree looks wonderful and I agree about the higgedly piggedly style. We have many ornaments on our tree that I have collected ever since my children were small and still living with me. I always pick a new ornament up each and every year.

Yes, you must try your hand at the competition (I wouldn't know where to start). Good luck!

Cobweb looks great, but it's no fun knitting something when you don't feel like it. Revive your efforts when you get the passion back, I think.

Lovely Christmas tree.

For the one worders I'd have gone with 'missed' rather than 'forgotten' but eye of the beholder and all that x
