I frogged an entire shrug today. I don’t want to talk about it but I’m feeling a bit blue, there is something about a freshly rolled ball of wool with that crimped “I almost was something" texture that just brings tears to my eyes. My knitting just doesn’t seem to be going that well at the moment. The lace is going very slowly.
To get myself out of this knitting slump I decided to make a knitting spreadsheet of all my stash and all the projects I want to make (following Dreamcatcher‘s good example). Happily there is a large overlap between the yarn and the projects so hopefully there will be some more interesting knitting news coming up.
At least today is Clever Monkey’s birthday and that makes me very cheerful. Here is a picture of the cake I just made. Plus I’m making his favourite homemade lamb and coriander burgers tonight. Then we will be watching X-Men 2. Tonight is truly an evening of high culture!
By the way any ideas of what to do with a rather fuzzy, crumpled looking ball of Rowan Polar would be appreciated. :-(

Oh no, I'm sorry about the shrug. It stinks when something refuses to work out. No immediate ideas re an alternative project but you're sure to find something for it, it's gorgeous yarn after all :-)
Yay for the spreadsheet though! It's great when you find you've got the yarn for multiple projects just sitting there already.
Many Happy Returns to Clever Monkey :-) Your cake looks absolutely delicious, I'm going to have to bake something tomorrow now! Enjoy X-Men 2, we've got it and not watched it yet, we're hopeless!
I'm sorry too about the shrug. We all do have times when certain things just seem to go pear-shaped and it feels horrible. But look, your cake is beautiful - it's just perfect. I promised my 2yr old yesterday we'd make biscuits and was certain this time my baking would be passable, but they came out just as awful as ever - only just edible (and only then to a 2 yr old). My baking is always BAD. But from what I've seen, your knitting is usually fab! So take heart. It's just a phase. Blame it on the moon or something! And keep going........
I promised myself no cake on weekdays ... then i saw yours(yummy)! Now i'm thinking about going down the shops!!! hehe ;)
Your post reminded me that I'm not the only one in frogging department... There is a jumper waiting to be frogged because it looks crappy but I just can't do it - I put soooo much effort in knitting this!... I share your suffering!
But that's how it goes - one day you knit, the other you frog, that's life after all! (*^-^*)
